Zainal is the founder of EdPaLa in Mindanao State University. He is formerly the Executive Secretary of Kataas-taasang Sanggunian ng mga Mag-aaral,KASAMA (translated as Supreme Students' Council) in MSU-IIT last School Year 2001-2002. The co-chairman of the Student Alliance for Nationalism and Democracy in MSU-IIT and a member of the National Union of Students of the Philippines (NUSP). He is a BS Information Technology senior student of MSU-IIT.
